  • Empowering Young Girls
  • Free Summer Camps for Children in Need

Every year, AFIDI organises free summer camps for children from families with limited financial resources. These camps create safe, fun, and educational spaces where children can learn, play, grow, and discover their talents — all at no cost to their families.

What the Summer Camps Offer

Our summer camps are designed to support children’s development holistically. They include:

  • Creative Activities: art, storytelling, music, drama, and crafts to develop imagination and self-expression.

  • Reading & Literacy Workshops: encouraging reading skills and a love of books in fun, participatory sessions.

  • Games and Team Activities: physical games, team building, and sport to build confidence and cooperation.

  • Life Skills & Personal Growth: friendly sessions that help children build confidence, problem-solving skills, and social interaction.

  • Inclusive Participation: all camps are open to all children, including young people with disabilities — ensuring everyone can join and benefit equally.

Who Can Attend

These camps are:

  • 100% free for children from low-income families and those with limited financial resources.

  • Open to children of all abilities.

  • Held annually during the school summer holidays.

  • Designed to offer meaningful learning and joyful experiences outside the classroom.

Our Camp Goals

At AFIDI, we believe every child deserves to thrive. The summer camps aim to:

  • Boost confidence and creativity through structured yet fun activities.

  • Encourage lifelong learning and curiosity.

  • Create inclusive environments where friendships are formed, and differences are celebrated.

Science Campaigns – Learning Science Through Practice
  • Inspiring Children Through Science

AFIDI’s Science Campaigns are educational training and awareness programmes designed to introduce children and young people to science in a practical, accessible, and engaging way.

These campaigns aim to spark curiosity, strengthen learning, and help children — especially those with limited resources — discover science through hands-on activities rather than theory alone.

  • What Are the Science Campaigns?

The Science Campaigns are a series of free educational workshops and training sessions organised in Afidi libraries, schools, and community spaces.

They combine:

  • Practical demonstrations

  • Simple scientific experiments

  • Interactive discussions

  • Guided learning activities

All sessions are adapted to the age and level of the children and delivered in a friendly, inclusive environment.

  • Training Topics

Our Science Campaigns cover a variety of themes, depending on age group and local context, such as:

  • Basic science and discovery

  • Mathematics through games and logic

  • Introduction to technology and digital tools

  • Environmental awareness and sustainability

  • Scientific thinking: observation, experimentation, and problem-solving

These topics are introduced in ways that are easy to understand and relevant to everyday life.

Who the Science Campaigns Are For
  • Children and young people from low-income families

  • Girls, to encourage confidence and interest in science from an early age

  • Young people with disabilities, with inclusive and adapted activities

Participation in the Science Campaigns is 100% free.
