Our Vision and Mission
A child who reads will become an adult who thinks
Our association's mission is to contribute to local development by developing projects of general interest in the fields of education, child protection, young girls, the environment ... We help children to access education through our various library, media library and game library program initiatives. We depend on the support of our donors on school materials, books and educational toys in order to improve the literacy rate, initiate the love of reading, early learning activities for toddlers by helping them to understand the values and importance of today's world. Our mission is also to educate young people on several social issues.
What We Do
Bringing books to children
Founded in 2019, Afidi's primary objective is to encourage children to read by providing them with books and educational materials via its libraries set up by books collected from various donors. We have training programs focused on several disciplines: language courses (French, English and Chinese), introduction to ICT, sewing, math, philosophy and Yoga. We also have a tuition sponsorship program for certain children in financial difficulty with a priority on orphaned children. We also collect the clothes that we distribute to low-income families in the area.

One of the main reasons Afidi was founded in 2019 was to compensate for Yaounde area’s struggles with the lack of librairies. Children don't have librairies for their school home-works, personal research or even for a simple reading activity. Mums don't have places for their babies and toddlers activities.
